That Look

 Here I am posting a last minute layout for the mid-month sketch at Scrap Our Stash challenge.

The sketch:

The challenge not only called for us to follow the sketch but we also had to use wood grain patterned paper and an animal embellishment. 

I used a piece of painted wood grain pattern placed behind the photos, as well as a little butterfly with a wood grain pattern. I replaced the paper circle and flower with a Silhouette cut file, added a flower grouping in the upper corner, and the journaling was placed where the title is on the sketch. 

The layout is of my daughter's dog, Quincy. She sits in front of us and gives us this look. We wish we knew what exactly she is thinking.

NEW DO

It's late in the month but there's still a few day left to participate in the July Scrap-Our-Stash challenge.

Here's what we had to work on:

I struggled to get a layout done for this one.  I wanted to scrapbook but my mojo didn't want to.  It took watching quite a few RTS (Record The Story) videos on YouTube to get me back on track.

I ended up choosing the word "HAPPY".
Hearts, Alphabet stamp set, Polka-dots, Pattern papers, Yellow.

My grand-daughter, Coraline had been asking her mom to get her hair cut for quite some time. She was really happy when her mom finally said "yes". 👩

Violet at 8

I'm back with another fun challenge at Scrap our Stash. 
This time around we have a recipe to follow.

And here's what I came up with:

5 different pattern papers : background, black with diamond shapes, green stripes, pink floral, and teal/pink floral for the tag.
4 embellishments : flowers, flair, ribbon, epoxy heart.
3 word title : Violet at 8
2 types of alpha : Basic Grey and Creative memories stickers.
1 photo : my grand-daughter Violet

I've "spiced up" my layout by adding some cut files from the Silhouette shop, a little doggie stamp, coloured and fussy cut, a StampinUp buckle on the ribbon, and two pre-printed phrases on the tag that say - Favorite things -  Right now. 

I recently did a layout of my grand-daughter, Rosalie at 7. I plan on making similar layouts for my other two grand-children.

You can't buy happiness

Another month brings new challenges for me to play along. 

This time around my layout qualifies for two different challenges:

SimonSaysStamp - It's a dog's life
Scrap our Stash - What's my challenge

May's  Scrap our Stash challenge - What's my challenge - is a fun Tic-Tac-Toe.
I chose Flowers, Doily, Twine.

My layout:

For the SimonSaysStamp challenge, It's a dog's life, I used (2) sets of stamps. The flower and butterfly set is from Stampin' Up  "On Gossamer Wings". I stamped directly onto the background and used crayons to add colour. I also used a Tim Holtz stamp as an accent behind the main photo block. 

The layout is about my rescue dog, Maggie. She's been with me for about 18 months. She's a senior, age unknown. I don't know anything about her past but, I do know how lucky I am that she is now mine. 

I want to thank my friend, Anna-Karin for inspiring me to participate in the SimonSaysStamp challenge. She's an amazing stamping/mixed media artist and a designer on the blog. You can also check out her beautiful work on her own blog, Layers of ink .

UN BEAU CADEAU

Hello again. I rarely get to scrap two layouts in one month but since all the in-home confinement, I found the time to play the sketch challenge at the SCRAP OUR STASH blog.

Here it is:

My layout:

As usual, I played around with the sketch, changing one of the piece of pattern paper and replacing it with one long strip. I also added a chain link cut file behind the photo for a bit of texture. I've had that plaid pattern paper in my stash for years. I'm glad I finally got to use it. The wood embellishments can be found on the journaling tag.

Finally, the journaling. My grand-son gave me this book for Christmas. He chose it at school from the books available through Scolastic.  It warms my heart that he thought of me when he saw it. He knows me well.

At 7

A new month, a new challenge. This time it's a fun one at one of my favorites, Srap our Stash.

I tried my best to find papers and embellishments that matched the colour combination chart. I think every one of those colours is on my layout.
We also had to find stash items for the letters of our first name.
Here's what I came up with;

Text print, teal coloured ribbon
Heidi Swapp ghost letters, handwriting
Epoxy heart

My layout:

I scraplifted the words banner at the top of my page from one of Design Team member, Karen Yagel's layout. She featured her layout on her YouTube channel, Yes Please Papercraft - Layouts of 2019, which you can watch here.
As soon as I saw her layout, I knew I had that particular paper in my stash and that those words described my grand-daughter to a T. They also matched the colour combination so that was also a plus.

Cut files of the circle frame, flower and leaves are from the Silhouette store. You can also see the clock, the chevrons, and the Heidi Swapp ghost letters. The flourishes are from a Stampin'Up set.

Finally, the journaling about my grand-daughter, Rosalie at 7 years old.

I enjoyed working with this challenge, and I'm pleased with how my layout turned out.

St. Patrick’s themed products

One of my scrapbooking goals this year is to use as many of my paper scraps as possible. I'm happy to say that every piece of paper on this layout is left over paper from other projects. The bottom piece of flowery paper had two circles cut out of it but I decided to use it just the same.

All five colours were used.

From the Evidence list : Floral pattern, dots, scallops, other animal, heart, leaves, flowers, border punch, ribbon, and people.
