GETTING TO KNOW LILY

I thought I would play along with my favorite challenge http://csichallenge.blogspot.com for the mid-month case file. Even though we can play "free style", I prefer to solve the case the traditional way.

Here is the colourful inspiration image:
And the clues to solve the case:

  • Presentation: Write your journaling in cursive.
  • Writing Format: Write a thank-you note to your subject.

THE SCHEME
  • 240.69.148 – fuchsia
  • 189.208.57 – chartreuse
  • 255.255.255 – bright white
  • 255.241.22 – lemon yellow
  • 9.9.7 - black

I drew inspiration from many of the items in the image to create my layout. As animals seem to find their way on many of my scrapbook pages, this sweet beagle is the featured one this time around. She belongs to our neighbours but has managed to make herself at home in ours. She pops in everyday for a visit and a treat.

The five colours are all there but with only small touches of chartreuse (green).

From the evidence list: Floral print, Stripes, Dots, Other animal, Bee and other insect, Flowers, Scallops, Multi-coloured alphabet, and Brad(s).

I chose the topic: Document a pet or another animal.

This large flower has been in my stash forever. I always challenge myself to use stamps on my layouts. The flowers, stamped on the envelope, and the butterfly are from Stampin'Up.

Multi-coloured alphabet stamped and fussy cut with a set from Autumn Leaves, and the larger letters were stamped with Making Memories foam stamps. Remember those?

The journaling is tucked into the envelope. The translation reads:

Lily is our neighbour's little dog. When they had to go away one weekend, Connor asked us if we could look after her. Of course, we said yes. At first she was a little skittish but it didn't take long for her to warm up to us. Since then, she comes for a visit practically every day. She makes herself at home. So much so, that sometimes the only way to get her to go back to her house is to bribe her with treats. We really like Lily and we're happy she lives next door.

That's it for now.

Thank you for stopping by, and for any comments you may care to leave.

Until next time, À la prochaine,

Jacynthe 😊

  1. Lilly reminds me of a dog that used to live beside us at our old house.
My kids loved her and it was a sad day when she passed away.

That fuchsia really just pops off your page!! Love that little stitched trail behind the stamped bee, and your multiple styles of scallops too. Such a sweet page for a sweet girl.

  3. Lilly is such a sweet girl! Love that layered flower and all the pretty details--the bee, the layered scallops, the way you added patterned paper to the doily. And as always such a great mix of patterns!
