OLD GIRL

The month of May sure is flying is by. I thought I would play along with the challenges over at http://scrapourstash.blogspot.com

Here are the challenges for the month of May;

My layout combines both challenges.

From the Golden Globe challenge, I scrapped my daughter's dog, Quincy, and added the little dog coloured stamp embellishment.

From the Blend-A-Sketch challenge, I used the circle element from the left-hand sketch . From the right-hand sketch, I was inspired by the  (4) pieces of pattern papers behind the photo. I went with (4) pieces of 6 x 6 paper pads papers to create the background of the layout instead of just behind the photo. I also used one horizontal photo as in the sketch.  The other requirement was to have veneer embellishments on the page. The only veneer pieces I have in my stash are little birds. You can see one of them above the photo.

The title letters are from my favorite set of letter stamps. The wreath circle and leaf cluster are cut files from the Silhouette store.

I stamped, coloured, and fussy cut the little dog embellishment.

The translated journaling reads:

Quincy is 10 yrs old. Her muzzle is greying. She's got lumps all over. She quickly tires when we go for walks. She cannot jump in the car without Daphné's help. It hurts me to see her that way. It's not easy watching our animals getting old. Everyone thinks their dog is the best dog in the world. Daphné certainly can say that of Quincy.

Here are some of the supplies I used from my stash to create my layout;

Recollection paper pads, Hero Arts letter stamps, Recollection envelopes, dollar store tags & twine, misc stamps and flowers.

I hope you like my page. I'm looking forward to the June challenges.

À la prochaine, Until next time,

Jacynthe ☺
