Play mom & baby --- CSI case # 221 / January Stash Challenge

Hello all,
I can't believe it took me three weeks to finish my layout for CSI case # 221, and for the January Stash Challenge at 2 Peas.  I kept changing papers, couldn't quite place the flowers, and I didn't really know what to say in the journaling. If that wasn't bad enough, I had to replace a large piece of turquoise paper after everything was glued down because I dropped a big glob of brown paint on it trying to add a few splatters. I almost threw the whole thing out ! Thankfully I found another piece of turquoise patterned  paper in my stash. Turns out it's nicer than the one I had originally chosen. Go figure ☺.

Here's the CSI challenge:

The colours: pale yellow/ivory, turquoise, watermelon pink, yellow green, dark chocolate brown are all there.

From the Evidence list I have: tiny dots, grid pattern, string, different coloured letter (word) stickers, and leaves.

From the Testimony I chose to mix my handwriting with some letter stickers (on the hidden journaling card).

I also followed the sketch fairly closely.

For the January Stash Challenge at 2 Peas I chose three items from the list;
 * Something floral : the background frame border, and the washi tape.
* An unloved tool : my corner rounder, and 2 different Stampin'Up flower stamps. I haven't used those particular tools in quite a while. A shame really because I love the extra touch they give to my page.
* Your handwriting : on the hidden journaling card.

The photos of my grand-daughters were taken by their mom. I journaled about Rosalie's dream of being a mother and how much she takes good care of all of her "babies" which include her little sister, Coraline.

Thank you for stopping by and for any comment you may care to leave.

Have a great week,
Jacynthe ☺

Première Neige (First Snow) - December Stash Challenge

This time around my layout was created with the December Stash Challenge at http://2peasrefugees.boards.net/board/3/general-scrapbooking-papercrafting in mind.

Karen gave us a list of items to choose from. My layout used four of the items suggested.

- Something red : *button, *berry twig cut-out, *red (and white) ribbon, * red on tag and on the snowman.
- Something green: *button, *green on the snowman
- Something sparkly: *the snowman
- A definite theme: *snow

Just about everything on this layout is YEARS old.

And a close-up of the "sparkly" snowman

The translated journaling (on the tag) reads:

The first snow storm of the season always makes the children happy. For Victor and Violet it ment a day off from school. They got to climb snow banks and go slidding. And Rosalie was happy to show (her little sister) Coraline how to play in the newly fallen snow. ♦

Hope you like it. Please leave a comment if you do. I always appreciate any words of encouragement.

Happy Holiday Season,

Jacynthe ♥

Case File # 218 - [Adorable]

Hi everyone,
This week I would like to share the layout I made for the CSI case file # 218. Although my photos are Halloween themed, I still found that the challenge colours worked with them.

Here's the case file:

And here's my layout:

I have used all the colours; *Navy, *Light seafoam green, *White, *Yellow, and *Teal.

For the evidence I have: *Dots, *Hearts (button), *Leaves, *Bow, *Metal, and *Circles.

For the testimony I chose to *Write your journaling as a dialogue*.

The photos are of my grand-daughter, Coraline. Her big sister, Rosalie, decided that Coraline would be a chicken for Halloween.

The journaling goes as follows;
"Rosalie, what is Coraline going to be for Halloween?"
"A chicken."
"A chicken!"
"Yeah"
"OK....."
So Daphné found a picture of a chicken costume and we got to work. We were quite pleased with the result. The costume was a big hit. Coraline was absolutely ADORABLE.

I hope you like it.

Thank you for stopping by, and please have a look-see at my first blog post featuring a layout I did for a past case file.

Happy scrapping,
Jacynthe

CSI Challenge #175 [Allo Maxime]

For my very first blog post I wanted to share a layout made for the CSI Challenge # 175. I finished it after the due date and never posted it to the site. Here it is:

And here is the case file:

All the colours were used.

From the evidence I used: Polka dots, Grid pattern, Animal, Heart (button), Flowers, Leaves/stems, Buttons, and a Scallop punched border.

From the testimony I: Documented a pet and used the inspiration word Hello (Allo) as part of the title.

I was inspired by the sketch to used the three photos and the banners.

The translated journaling reads:
When we moved to the farm I wondered how Maxime would react. She had always lived in town. She had her territory and her habits. Here, all that would change. So far she seems to be settling in just fine but I still worry if she doesn't come when I call her. There are many things that could happen to her here. I'd rather not think about them too much. She will soon be sixteen. I'd like her to live for a while yet.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you will take the time to say a quick "hello".
